Cashews are among the five healthiest nuts. They are also one of the four most popular nuts. You gain many health benefits by including roast cashew or raw cashews in your diet.
If you’re trying to eat cashews as part of a healthy eating plan or heart-healthy diet, it’s best to eat raw or unsalted, roasted cashew nuts. Cashews are a good source of zinc, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, and vitamins B6 and K. They are also an excellent source of healthy fats. They contain antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and support overall health. You can enjoy raw or roast cashew as part of a diabetic diet, a weight loss diet, and a low carb diet.
Roasted salted cashews are a popular snack food. There are several methods for making roasted salted cashews. Oven roasting yields more evenly toasted nuts. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of cashews with 1 tsp. olive oil and a pinch of salt. Then spread the nuts evenly on the baking sheet. Place the pan in the oven for 5 minutes then shake the pan and continue cooking for 3-7 minutes. Monitor the cooking process carefully to avoid burning. The cashews should be removed from the oven when they turn golden brown and their nutty aroma intensifies.
This method is quicker than oven-roasting but requires more direct attention. Using the same ingredients listed in the oven method add the cashew mixture to the pan. Cook for 3-5 minutes. Stir frequently to achieve even cooking.
Honey roasted cashews are a superb snack. You can easily prepare honey roasted cashews at home using a simple, basic recipe. A basic recipe requires 2 cups of cashew, 1/4 cup of honey. 2 Tbsp. of melted butter and 1/8 tsp. of salt. While preheating the oven to 300 degrees, mix cashews, melted butter, honey, and salt in a bowl. When mixed, spread the cashews evenly onto a parchment or foil-lined baking sheet. Bake 8 minutes, remove from oven, stir nuts around on the pan, return pan to oven and bake 5-8 more minutes.
